How you can get free gift cards & other prizes with little effort
There’s an awesome way to get some really great stuff online for free with very little effort and thought this was too good to be true but it isn’t. I’ve decided to write a short little guide on a great website that lets you get points for just searching the internet on a normal regular basis.
These points can then be redeemed for great items such as Microsoft Points or Amazon Gift cards in $5, $25 or even $50 increments (More on this later)
So let’s get started:
First you need to visit this website called SwagBucks. (This will open a new window for you so you can sign up then follow along with my guide at the same time)
Just for the initial sign up you already get credited with 30 free SwagBucks. Awesome!
Getting Started
So first I’m gonna tell you a bit about how this site works for you to get free stuff by earning SwagBucks so that you’ll understand my steps for getting you free items fast.
SwagBucks pays you with their points for using their search engine instead of the regular one you use which is probably Google, Bing or Yahoo. This is because they get money from sponsors being placed high in their search results and the more traffic they get the more valuable that space is. Therefore SwagBucks compensates you by awarding you SwagBucks for using their search engine.
As you search you will randomly win SwagBucks (My wins range from 5-10 between Sat-Thurs, and Fridays are MegaBucks Days where they increase the wins you can get and I’ve gotten up to 50 SwagBucks on this day in just 1 successful search.)
This is going to be your primary way of earning. The trick here is to go through your Bookmarks menu and instead of having your bookmarks link directly to the websites you normally visit have them link to a SwagBucks search result. For example if you go to Facebook every day instead of having Facebook.com bookmarked, search Facebook.com on SwagBucks, then bookmark that result as your Facebook bookmark. That way you only have 1 extra click to get to facebook and also get a chance at winning free swagbucks. If you do this with all your Bookmark links you’ll be getting tons of free points without even trying by just visiting sites you normally go to anyways.
Earn More
The next step is to visit the Daily Poll and vote – this earns you 1 SB (SwagBuck) then visit their ‘NOSO’ (No Obligation Special Offers) link which is where they ask you to sign up for a bunch of offers, but you can skip them by pressing (simply enough) the skip button. After you just skip through about 5 or so they’ll award you 2 SB. Do this quickly every day and the points will really add up.
Next you can watch videos on the SwagBucks TV section of the site. In this section they give you a meter to fill by watching videos and everytime you fill it you get 5 SB. The way it works is that the first full minute you watch of any video earns you 5% on your video meter. This means if you watch a video for 1min and 10s you’re wasting 10s. Soon as you hit the 1min mark you’ll see your meter increase, then click for a new video and repeat the process. You can repeat the same videos over and over. I’ll cycle through watching about 7 or 8 different ones each time.
The maximum number you can get per day watching vids is 75 SB. Not too shabby in 1 day!
How It All Stacks Up
Now, lets look at some of the rewards. The best reward in my opinion is the $5 amazon gift card, not the $25 one and definitely not the $50 one and here’s why. The $5 Amazon gift card costs 450 SB. However the $50 Amazon gift card costs 5900 SB… Seems weird doesn’t it? We can use this to our advantage because Amazon lets you claim more than one giftcard on purchases, therefore if we keep redeeming for a $5 Amazon gift card every 450 SB, we’ll have $50 in Amazon gift cards for only 4500 SB, that’s 1400 SB cheaper than if we had waited!
So now let’s do some math to show you how you earn fast. First counting searches using results I had for one day during a non-megabucks day I won 7SB, 8SB, 10SB and 10SB throughout the course of 1 day. That’s 35SB.
Now, lets say we’ve watched our daily cap of SwagBucks TV. That’s 75 SB.
Now lets count the 3 SB we get for just voting in the poll and pressing ‘Skip’ a few times.
Our daily total is 113 SB in 1 day. This means that every 4 days you follow these steps you’ll have enough points to redeem for a $5 Amazon gift card! All for just doing what you normally do in a day!
Even if you don’t watch the max videos on SwagBucks TV you can still aim to get about 1 $5 giftcard every week. Not to mention you can speed up your earning by doing surveys they have on their site or installing their ToolBar. Sometimes the site even has SwagCodes they post somewhere that you can redeem on the main page for a great little boost.
